What's New

Spring is here!
Spring is on its way and we are excited with all that is going on at Urban Aboriginal Alt. Students are working on a variety of credits by skiing, camping, swimming, beading, making traditional mittens and even attending Algonquin College courses!! There's also a lot of good old hard work on reading, writing and arithmetic too. Students are working on completing their volunteers hours, some at the upcoming Odawa Children's Powwow. The Indigenous Youth Symposium is coming up this week where students from across the city will meet to participate in cultural activities and learn more about each other. Lots more to come! Check out our activity calendar below!

Academic Reviews November 13-15
Academic Reviews are Urban Aborginal's Student-Teacher-Parent/Guardian conferences. They occur at mid-term and end of terms each semester, so four times all together during the year. Students and Parent/Guardians should receive a notice by email with a follow up paper copy given to each student. From Monday afternoon to Wednesday end of day, students should select one 30 minute time slot for this conference. Every student is encouraged to bring a support person with them to the conference however those under 18 are required to do so. We are happy to meet via telephone conference as well if coming to the school is not possible for a parent/guardian. Please call if you have questions 613-746-6328.
